Celebrating the Lent Season

Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebration of Easter. The Lenten season began on Ash Wednesday, March 6th, with our humbly coming to God in repentance for our sins.

Palm Sunday – April 14 – is celebrated as the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Laurel celebrates this day with singing and a processional by our children and the waving of palm branches during our worship services.

Maundy Thursday – April 18 –  commemorates the foot washing and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His Disciples.  Laurel will host a worship service at 7:00 p.m. on this evening.

Good Friday – April 19 – commemorates Jesus Christ’s passion, crucifixion, and death on the Cross.  Laurel will have a worship service at 7:00 p.m. on this evening.

Easter Sunday – April 21 – celebrates the resurrection of Jesus and the overcoming of death. Those of faith will be forgiven of sins and have everlasting life.  Laurel celebrates the Risen Lord at our regular worship service hours of 8:30, 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.
