BIBLES FOR THE WORLD CHALLENGE
We have been challenged by the Sugar Creek Men’s Group and Love Packages out of Butler, Illinois, to provide Bibles for pastors, churches, seminaries and individuals worldwide. Many of us have multiple Bibles in our homes. We are asking you to share your extra Bibles with others in remote mission fields. Please drop them off in the church office by November the 30th. Thank you.
LAUREL BOOK CLUB

We ask for our December meeting that each of our book club members read and bring a new children’s Christmas book. These books will be donated to Asbury Children’s Supper Hour. You may also bring used books to give to Asbury. Laurel member, Karen Ettinger, will present a children’s book she has written. The meal is an appetizer potluck. Drinks and tableware will be provided.
THE CAPITAL CITY MEN’S CHORUS CONCERT
“Seasons of Love”

Directed by Mary E. Myers, The Capital City Men’s Chorus will present a concert of favorite love songs. $10.00 at the door.

ADVENT BIBLE STUDY
Beginning November the 28th and 29th
Pastor Kent Lolling will lead an advent study using the book by Rob Burkhart, Five Questions of Christmas. Come to the Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. study, or Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. study. Call the church office to order a book. Cost is $12.00.
THE STAR TREE
The Star Tree for Chaddock is up! Choose a star or stars off the tree found in the Parlor, and make this Christmas extra special for every child under Chaddock’s loving care. Deadline for bringing gifts is Sunday, December the 3rd. Do not wrap them.
TOUR of CHADDOCK in Quincy
Monday, December the 4th
We will be taking the toys from the Star Tree to Chaddock, leaving the parking lot at 8:00 a.m., and returning around 3:30 p.m. We will drop off the toys and take a tour of the facility, including the new school. Lunch will be at Kelly’s, a local family-style restaurant. We need a firm count of who is attending. Please sign up on the attendance sheet Sunday mornings, or call the church office.
VESPERS at MILLIKIN
December the 2nd and 3rd
With concerts at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Vespers (“Evening Prayers”) signals the beginning of the holiday season with an evening of carols, choirs and candlelight at Millikin University in Decatur. This is their 59th annual celebration. Tickets are $12.00 for Adults, and $10.00 for Seniors 65 and older and Children. Tickets can be purchased through the Box Office at 217-424-6318.

Come ready to leave the parking lot at 5:00 p.m. We will carol a merry tune, then return to Laurel to warm up with hot chocolate, snacks and a little Christmas fellowship.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

All children have an important part in this celebration. The toddlers through 2nd graders will sing. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders present the pageant, and the Jr. and Sr. High tie it all together with script and music.

DAY OF PRAYER
Monday, December the 18th
Noon – 7:00 p.m.
This is a quiet time of prayer for your concerns or praises at this holiday season. Prayer will be continuous from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, and we ask for a 30-minute commitment. The sign-up will take place in the Parlor on Sundays or throughout the week.
