Our goal and purpose is to know the good news of God’s love, fellowship and care for each other, reach out into the community, share in God’s word and offer ourselves in service to God. We want to change the world one heart at a time.

Faith Formation (Formerly Sunday School)

Youth meet for Faith Formation Sunday School each Sunday morning in room 303 at 9:30 a.m. This group looks at current issues from a faith perspective. Through Bible investigation, youth find the ACTIVE aspect of faith. How do I live my faith each day?

Double Edge Youth Group

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword…” –Hebrews 4:12

All Sr. High teens (9th-12th Grade) and their friends are invited to share in an evening meal followed by fellowship and activities monthly on the 2nd and 4th Sundays 5:00-7:00pm.

Laurel Scholarship Program

The Laurel Scholars Program is a permanent scholarship program intended to benefit the youth of our church as they enter college and complete an education.  Any member of the Laurel Church family who is entering college or has at least one year of college before graduating is eligible to apply.  This program is supported by fundraising and a book sale is planned for the Fall. Watch for book sale dates and watch for scholarship application dates.

Pop the Tab!

The Laurel children and youth ask you to join them in collecting pop tabs that will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. This recycling effort is ongoing throughout the year. A “collection house” is located in each Sunday School room and a large collection jug is located on the lower level next to the soda machines

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity partners with people in our community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage enabling Habitat homeowners to achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.

For over 20 years, Laurel Youth has been organizing Habitat for Humanity trips for our high school youths to learn first hand the power of helping others and experiencing other communities. We have had nearly 300 youths chaperoned by over 100 adults actively participate in the building of Habitat homes in Indiana, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Arkansas.
